I have set up this site to encourage people to look after their bikes.
I repair and sell secondhand bicycles for a living and I can tell you a little preventive maintenance will make your cycle last years longer saving you money and, when you come to sell it, increasing the value greatly.
The maintenance I'm talking about is really so simple anyone can do it.
A little chain lube once in a while, a weekly wash with soapy water, a quick wipe over with an oily rag and a brief visual check takes a few minutes a week.
You will probably spot any problems as they start to develop whilst you're doing these basic maintenance steps and save yourself some hassle and maybe prevent an accident.
